There are stories worth telling. Tales that the world should hear. A story of survival deserves publishing. It is something that will surprise and motivate people. Being caught in a survival situation needs certain skills and knowledge so that to get out of the undesirable circumstance. In most cases, the mindset makes the biggest difference. When it is, do or die, one has to think right and has to think on his feet. There are moments in life when indecisiveness will not help.

Endurance, stamina and patience are words that come to mind when talking about survival. The ability to endure the worst that nature and life can offer is a great human attribute. Endurance is built by physical, mental and emotional training. A great stamina will come in handy in any situation. Patience will also be of great help. An impatient person will do very little surviving.

Surviving is something most people do regularly. Some people do it more than others because of the hard nature of their lives. Hurricanes, earthquakes and other disasters always call for a great level of survival. To be able to complete a hard expedition, one needs to learn how to survive. Survivalists are not born but they are created. It is an issue of the mind.

There will come a day when one will have to survive. It is hard to know when that will be that is why it is important to always be prepared. One should expect the best from life while preparing for the worst. Preparation is the key to surviving anything. A person going to an expedition should prepare for all possible scenarios complete with well-thought out contingency planning.

Failing to plan is simply disastrous. One should always think about the rainy days. This can be a period of financial, physical or natural hardship. No one loves the hard life but when the life gets tough, the tough get going. It is always good to keep on pressing forward. One should not get comfortable but plan for the unexpected.

The greatest men and women in the world are those who survived against all odds. These are the people who decided that failure was not an option despite the odds that they faced. Life can get nasty at times but when it does so, one should get nastier. There are different shapes and forms of problems. Challenges call for real mettle.

Surviving is part mental and part physical. The body should be in the right shape if one to survive in the wilderness or alone at sea. One should be able to run and most importantly, a person should be able to stay many days without eating. There is need for sufficient quantities of water. One can stay for many days without eating but only a few with water.

It is always great to hear people saying their survival tales. It is from these stories that people get inspiration on how to survive similar circumstances. One should read as many survival stories. This will make someone to know everything about surviving different issues. These tales are published online and offline. One can find a good book. There are survivalist websites and blogs that have good information.
