Secrets And Tips On How To Prepare Your Own Cold Po Boy

By Susan Smith

Snacks feed our appetite between lunch and dinner or anytime we want to eat. Sumptuous taste aside, treats also come in a variety of flavors and types. Sandwiches for instance, are globally sought after because of their highly interesting and appetizing taste.

Little that we know that there are different types of sandwiches each has its preparation tips and guides. One less familiar yet highly nutritious and delicious type is a cold po boy Louisiana. This is a traditional type of sandwich, mostly consists of meat or seafood depending on what a person prefers. Preparing this dish is, however, partly challenging. But with some ideas and advice, chances of getting good results would be ultimately be high. Here are some guidelines.

First, know the perfect bread type. Bread makes a sandwich complete and this is not exempted. Locally search bakeries that offer the right bread or better yet find good alternatives. French loafs are more preferable than baguette. Remember that this food need a crisp, soft and airy crust which is present in a french loaf rather than in a baguette.

Be generous with your servings. Do not be stingy and place a little amount of meat or crab meat in each loaf otherwise you would not be able to get the desirable taste. Make sure to evenly distribute the servings to every loaf by using a spreader. And if there is a need to, taste the serving prior on its application to assess some factors that need improvements.

Season, season, season. Just like you value the fillings and the breads, the season should be paid some attention as well. A generous amount of spice, pepper and salt could do but make sure to know the precise servings to avoid a bad taste to surface and ruin your food. Use measuring utensils to avoid putting the wrong amount and do the preparation all over again.

Dressing. When it comes to dressing, people always picture out the tomato, shredded lettuce top with mayo or ketchup or a combination of both. But what most experts suggest is to make sure that all dressings are properly washed. Use ingredients that are fresh, healthy and at least cold to maintain the crispiness and tastiness of the entire servings.

Great sauce makes the prepared dish more compelling. For spicy lovers, one can add some Tabasco sauce or pepper, for example. Sauce might increase the flavor but it does not mean that you are limited to few selected options. Place sufficient amount to avoid mess and liquid spill that will ruin both your kitchen countertops and floors as well.

Do not forget to place your dish to the fridge to retain its crispness and maximize its longevity. You can always heat in your oven anytime you want. Just remember to put it a cool storage every time you are unable to consume the whole serving to have something to eat later.

Be proud and happy with your made dish. Eat it by using kitchen utensils or with your own hands. Either way, digest it very well. More importantly, do remember to share some portions to your family members, friends and colleagues too.
