Factors That Determine Illinois Copywriter Rates

By Donna McDonald

If you are thinking of building a new website or create a business brochure and have a dilemma whether to hire a professional or do the writing yourself, you should put a few things into consideration. A marketing copy is likely to differ from the one that you are used to writing. In case you decide to hire a professional, you need to know the pricing. Professionals will consider the following factors to determine Illinois copywriter rates.

The first thing they will put into consideration is the quantity of the copy. Often, the price will be determined by the time they take to write. A ten-page corporate brochure is likely to take more time than a five-page business brochure. Therefore, the more time it takes to complete your work the higher the cost.

The other thing is complexity. If there are few background studies to be done, a writer is likely to find the project a walk in the park. It applies mostly to consumer goods as much of the research was done during manufacturing period. But when it comes to crafting words for industrial artifacts, then the writer as to spend time in the library reading books or the field administering questionnaires and interviewing to get an upfront of what he or she has to write.

When it comes to business, all that people want to do is make massive profits and be able to compete with other competitors. Therefore, you will find prices do not differ much. Writers will also do the same. They will use the market rates or the going rates per hour and either add some amount on this par value or reduce it, but their cost must be close to that of the standard market prices.

Writers will always have a queue of jobs waiting for them especially in the boom time. So, how soon you want your work will change the rates. If you are going to be treated specially, then you will have to convince the writer that you deserve that by paying more for an extra minute he or she has to skip lunch or sleep to complete your work.

In every market, when demand is very high, the prices usually go up. The same thing applies in this field, if there are a lot of projects, the prices charged either per hour or doing an individual project will shoot. After all, if you complain about the high cost, the person behind you is willing to pay it just to get the job done. In case there are few or no jobs, on the other hand, these experts will be looking for customers hence you are likely to pay less.

Depending on the writer you are hiring, there are certain overhead costs for running the business and keeping it operational. If your writer pays for office space or has a team of experts that assist him or her during work, then this overhead cost will factor into the total amount you have to pay.

In conclusion, if you have already started the project by yourself maybe by evaluating competition and built a brand, then her work will complement what you had already begun. As a result, the cost of the project will reduce.
