Tips On Buying Clean Burning Candles

By Brian Johnson

You can use a candle when looking for something to set the mood. The only disadvantage is that it can produce too much smoke that is unpleasant. This may also leave marks on your walls, floor rugs or even the ceiling. It may also darken the container holding it while flaming. You do not have to endure this as there are clean burning candles available. All candles produce soot, but these types produce very little or none of it at all.

Select products are made from natural ingredients. If you are interested in buying, your first choice should be a candle made from some wax sources. This includes palm, coconut, bees, and soy wax. Pure beeswax is very clean and is even claimed to have negative ions that clean the air removing odors and leaving your place feeling refreshed at all times.

Soy wax products also produce minimal to no residue that will not cause any allergic reactions. It is manufactured from soybeans. Palm wax is manufactured from palm oil that is gotten from palm trees. It is very important you check what the product comprises of before buying. It may be indicated that it contains honeycomb, but in the real sense, it contains a lesser percentage.

Additives, especially added colorants and chemicals that are not made from wax and fillers will lead to soot and other deposits in the air. It is a fact that such products with additives produce smoke. The perfume oils included are at a low-temperature state in contrast with wax making the wax softer. At it is flaming at such temperatures, there is no doubt it will produce too much smoke.

To maintain a clean burning product, the wick should be trimmed to a quarter an inch before it is lighted. The wick is the thread normally found at the center of a candle to keep the flame burning through it. Soy products tend to burn very slowly hence wick trimming ought to be maintained to keep it burning without residue. You should confirm that the wick is not made with lead which not only produces smoke but leaves dangerous deposits in your home.

You should also consider lighting the candle for a shorter while to reduce the amount of soot produced. A shorter time means only little to no residue will be produced. It is recommended you only light it for three to four hours and then leave the candle for a while before you light it again.

Where the candle is kept should allow in as much oxygen as possible. Containers badly made will not allow in more oxygen leading to soot production. Buy a design that is suitable. You may also consider using a snuffer or pinching the item instead of blowing it off. As you have experienced soot after blowing it a few times, these are some of the most efficient methods you should try.

The air quality of your home will be better if you use a candle that burns without emitting the residue. There are a wide variety of such items that do not have any effects especially if you suffer from allergies. Choosing natural ingredients will help reduce your concerns about debris.
